Supertrees Light Show
These amazing structures light up at night, and twice every evening (at 19:45h & 20:45h) the trees' lights pulse in time to a musical score. The music and light show for the "Garden Rhapsody" changes monthly so it's worth going back if you have chance . It is free to attend the shows and well worth it.

City In A Garden
The entire landscaping project was shepherded by Singapore’s National Parks Board as part of a broader initiative to create a “city in a garden” - rather than a garden in a city. Designed by Grant Associates (UK). The South Bay Garden, home to the Supertrees and completed in 2009, is estimated to have cost more than $1 billion. (source: solaripedia.com)

Stainess Steel Kingfisher
Sculptor Eng Siak Loy created two stunning stainless steel kingfisher sculptures at the Kingfisher Wetlands in Gardens By The Bay. They honour the bird species that can be spotted by the nearby lake, such as the White-throated Kingfisher and the Collared Kingfisher. These art pieces enhance the gardens that are already a serene and beautiful space in the heart of Singapore.

Old vs New
We learned about how the government has a long-term, decades into the future plan to raze old Singapore and replace it with high rise apartments, more shopping districts and new financial precincts. In order to achieve this, people living and working in the older quarters - like ChinaTown - will be displaced once the 99 year leases on their apartments expire. It’s not at all clear where those people - most of whom will be elderly when they are displaced - will go.

Beautiful Architecture
Singapore it famous for its award-winning architecture. Here is our attempt to feature the famous Marina Bay Sands building framed by various architectural elements in the Gardens. If you want to experience futuristic buildings, this is a great place to explore.
