Toronto’s Aux Merveilleux de Fred joins locations in Paris, New York City and Montreal to bring patrons superb French patisserie treats and superb coffee.
The head chef was trained for many years in France, and uses Beurre Normandie (Normandy Butter) exclusively in all her baked good. And does it make a difference? Let’s just say you have to taste the difference to believe it. Once you do, you’ll be in the IYKYK crowd when it comes to this superb butter.
Highlights include the signature Merveilleux (pillowing clouds of meringue and different flavours of creamy, deliciousness – sprinkled with crystallized meringue – OMG!); pillowy soft and rich brioche (the raisin is our favourite); croissants and pain au chocolat to die for; and absolutely superb coffee (quelle surprise!).
Other “bonus” items include in-house made Belgian waffles (aka: stroopwaffle) and mini-milk bread savoury sandwiches.
