London

It is difficult to speak adequately or justly of London. It is not a pleasant place; it is not agreeable, or cheerful, or easy, or exempt from reproach. It is only magnificent.

While London is indeed a magnificent city, it’s also expensive!  We don’t travel to London as a destination. We only transition through London to other places, enjoying it for just a short while on the way to our next adventure. We’ve done out best to share our tips on budget travel in London – but be warned, it isn’t easy.

Things To Do

London has some of the best restaurants in the world!

Tower Bridge Tour

This bridge was a marvel of engineering when it was built in the 1900’s and still captures people’s curiosity. It opens in the centre to let ships pass. The tour will share some very interesting history about its construction and also has the Victorian steam engine rooms in place for tourists to marvel over.

Travel Tips

The London Underground Subway System

Heathrow to London

The Underground – London’s subway system – can be accessed from Heathrow airport. We’ve found this to be the fastest and most cost effective way to get into the city.

Travelling Europe By Train

To-and-From London by Train

The train system through the UK and Europe is amazingly well established. We discovered an app that made planning and booking a breeze!

Day Trips

Crypt Alter

Canterbury Cathedral

This atmospheric Cathedral is the bedrock of the Anglican Church and one of the oldest in the country.  We are not formally religious people, but we are spiritual. Our experience here touched us in a meaningful and lasting way. Those as passionate about history as we are will also find this a worthwhile visit.
