Venga Cucina specializes in Pinsa, the famous Roman flatbread. They also serve fabulous pastas, meat and fish dishes, accompanied by excellent wine and great service.

This gem in the heart of The Junction is rapidly becoming our go-to spot for amazing food and fantastic customer service. They go above and beyond in sourcing the best ingredients from Italy, while at the same time supporting local suppliers when appropriate. Their commitment to quality shines in the the various antipasti, the pinsa and pastas on offer.
We first encountered pinsa when we were hiking in Italy in the spring-summer of 2022 and we can honestly say that Gino’s versions are better than any we had in and around Rome (the home of pinsa). His certification shines through in the quality.
The fresh pasta is sourced from Petti Fine Foods – an Italian grocer literally across the street – and combined with Gino’s mastery of light, Italian sauces they are always a treat.
Venga has very well curated wine selection, with very affordable options as well as some higher end offerings. These folks also understand that not everyone is ready to drink an entire bottle at every meal, so there are always excellent “by the glass” options as well. There are also a number of fine Amaro available, as well as a variety of delicious Grappa to choose from.
Perhaps best of all, though, is the welcoming atmosphere of the place. Service is professional and very friendly without being obsequious, and the owner/chef Gino and his wife Mary routinely come say hi to patrons, asking after the food and chatting.
As you can tell we are big fans, and are happy to offer an unequivocal recommendation for Venga Cucina.
Fresh Baked Focaccia
Crispy, perfectly chewy focaccia is a great pairing with any dish.
Burrata
With apple and delicata squash panzanella, arugula, pickled red onion, honey thyme vinaigrette.
Carbonara
Perfectly al dente fresh rigatoni with guanciale, pecorino romano and egg yolk.
Calamari fritti
Lightly breaded and fried squid, pepperoncini aioli, lemon.
Pinsa Special
Caramelized onions, artichokes, fava beans, sweet peas, tomatoes, capicollo, goat cheese & fior de latte.
