Old school, classic diners and burger joints are disappearing. Thankfully some really good ones are thriving. Apache Burger is one of the good ones!
📍5236 Dundas St W, Etobicoke
Described as a “retro institution for charbroiled eats”, Apache Burger has been owned and operated by the same family for 52 years. That certainly puts Apache in the institution category, and everything about the place screams retro: classic architecture; watching them flame grill your burger; picking out your fav toppings; friendly, fast service, and; super fair prices (single cheeseburger for $7.50 – whaaattt???).
Their burgers are outrageously delicious. Freshly flame kissed, juicy patties served on a fluffy but substantial bun (*Rant Alert: we hate burger buns that melt away halfway through the eating!), these bad boys will settle any burger lover’s craving.
They’re so good we hop the subway to Etobicoke on the regular to scratch that burger carving itch. They make pretty darn good fries and onion rings as well.
One thing to note: they don’t accept plastic so be sure you have cash (*there is an ATM on-site if you forget this wee detail).
